Aux Fuel Tank mount Hardware

Post by lenniesdad »

Hi guys and gals-
Got a 71 Hiboy in the works here, rebuilding the TravelTanks aux fuel tanks and was wondering if anybody had some insight on replacement installation hardware. The stuff that came out I had to cut to get loose, looked like a 1/2" (or so) foot long carriage bolt with a weird barrel nut that supported the tank. Unless I hear otherwise I'm just going to get a 13 or 14 inch carriage bolt run through a 3/4" spacer in the tank to reduce slop and suspend it with a large washer and nut. I cant seem to find those original nuts anywhere. Sound good? Ideas?
