Head light door nuts

Post by rdaniel911 »

Does anyone have the plastic inserts for the headlight door to grille screws for a 68, mine are mostly gone. I looked a DC, all they have are the ones for 70-72, will these work on the 68 grille?

No, but the 71-72 side-grille insert nuts are the same.
LMC catalog page 55, #6 on the '70 grille, #6 on the 71-72. Plastic nuts fit into a square hole.
Part #40-0913 should work. Also used on the dentside grille inserts, I usually grab some of the black ones during wrecking yard visits, the white plastic ones seem to be pretty brittle.

*Edit*...Just checked my supply, got 11 extras if you want 'em. Used, but intact and usable.

Robert,
When I ordered side marker lights for the 72 box that is on my 68 truck I got some extra square plastic inserts to mount them with for the purpose of trying them on my head light buckets. They are the same and worked perfect. I may have one or two extra if ya want 'em for free. Let me know if you do and I'll see how many I have.

Hey Robert,
I only have one, but it is yours if you want it. I noticed last time I was at the carquest auto paint store in PC that they had a ton of old car clips in stock. If you need more than the one I have you may be able to get them local at that store.

You better send pics or post some up. I wanna see it!!!
