Me and my father plan on shortening our 8ft bed down to a short factory step side bed does anyone know how much we have to lop off in front of the rear axle and behind to make it factory length. I wasn't able to find this at all maybe someone else has already posted this and i'm to stupid to find it.

I watched that trucks episode with the Chevy C10 is it worth it to do a similar cut to theirs instead of just 1 diagonal?
