Cab to Bed Alignment

Post by Orif »

I'm trying to figure out how to better align the cab to the bed on my 67 2wd short bed. Vertical alignment looks good. On the right side, the bed 'bumps in", and on the left side the bed "bumps out" compared to the cab. See below:

Here is one of the cab bushings, which looks pretty typical.

Just loosen the bed bolts and move the bed around until you're happy with it.

I should have stated that I tried that already. No Luck, the holes from bed to frame have no wiggle room at all. Can the cab be moved around if the cab mount bushings are loosened?

Hmm, something must be wrong, I can move the bed all over the place on my short bed with the bed bolts loose.
The cab can be moved around but it's a lot more difficult. All of the cab mounts will have to be loose as well as the core support mounts.

Check the gap between the top of the rear bumper and the rear bed / tailgate area. If the bed has moved, the gap there wouldn't be even on both sides.

I believe there were 8. It was totally loose and would move up and down. It just wouldn't move side to side.
