what color do i paint the reinforcement panel

Trying to clean and paint my engine compartment and curious what color the reinforcement panel, im guessing thats the correct term, should be, was it originally the body color, black or something else, not going to be a show truck but want to do it nice ....

'not sure what ya mean by "reinforcement panel".

Think of it this way, the entire cab (including firewall), fenders, hood, and bed were all painted body color. The inner fenders and radiator support were painted semi-gloss black. Krylon #1613 (Semi-gloss black) is a close match to the OEM color with just the right amount of sheen.

Btw, the firewall has a welded seam that looks like a gutter.... some hobbyists will paint the area below that seam semi-gloss black and it looks like the factory did it.

That's called the firewall. Here's a pic of an unrestored truck. Everything is factory. The blue was the exterior color and the black was that semi-gloss used on chassis stuff.
