Modern HD Mirrors on a Bump?

Post by 67 Camper Special »

I was backing up my truck into the barn yesterday and I really do not like the West Coast mirrors compared to the swingaway trailor ones on modern trucks

Has anyone tried adapting new ones to one of these trucks?

Not on a bump but on a dentside......'looks absolutely stoopid.. the owner eventually removed them and went more conventional.

IMO you can't just hang a giant piece of plastic like that off the side of an old truck. It just doesn't fit. Fabbing something that was metal, followed the body lines better, and at least still swiveled in; would look much better.

I was thinking the flip over Dodge mirrors. I don't like those mirrors either, even on the trucks they came on.

Mainly I want fold up mirrors, and big enough for the occasional trailor excursion. Actually, just 1/2 ton mirrors would be fine.

Well you have picture proof that someone has tried it on a dent so I think if you want to try it why not give it a shot. If it doesn't look like you want then yank em. IMO at least you tried it out.

I saw a set on a early 90s Ford I liked, fastened to the door, as that truck has vent windows as well.

Saw some on a old style Dodge I liked, but it was going the other way so I didn't get a good look. Again, mounted to the door.
