Tailgate letters on flareside

Did the letters on tailgates of flare sides originally have accented colors or not? My truck is red, trying to decide if I need to do white letters.

My flareside is white with the letters red and never has been anything but a work truck until I got it. I would "assume" it came that way.

BTW I was going to paint mine a med to dark blue but your avatar pic makes me like RED a lot!!! Bad azz.

They sell the lettering kits for the flareside tailgates just as they do for the styleside tailgates, so I would assume that they came painted a different color than the base. These are also officially Ford licensed products, so that would add a little more to the belief that the trucks came this way. If they didn't, they should have because they look good with the letters in a different color.
