ready to paint...

Post by lenniesdad »

Got my 71 as smooth as my amatuer capabilities allow and I'm ready to spray Napa single stage enamel on my 71. Not going show quality just want a cool looking old truck I can use as a truck so.... Will a gravity fed HVLP gun from Harbor Freight work OK? I have read the other threads and it would seem so I just wanted to check. Thanks for the view guys.

I think it'll work just fine. I've been through 2 of 'em in the past 2 years and have sprayed GALLONS of POR-15 and gloss black through 'em. They work fine for the average user, like you and me.

Make sure you invest the little money required for a decent moisture separator and regulator.
You'll for sure see the difference if you do. :2cents:

The biggest factor to consider is whether or not the fluid tip is the right size for the material you are spraying. Usually a tip in the 1.3-1.4 range will work well with single stage. I would rather use a cheap gun with the proper tip than an expensive one with too large of a tip :2cents:
