Hello,
I received a couple of used doors to replace my stock doors and I want to make sure that I carry the original VIN tag over to the new (old) doors. I saw that marti (is that the name?) carries the rivets but what I'm unsure of is how do you rivet them on ? It didn't seem like a regular rivet gun would work. Also is there a standard way to remove them to not damage the existing tag ?
I'm fairly good at mechanical work, just new to bumps so the finer details I'm just learning.
thanks

Re: replace VIN tag
Removal is easy... just go into the door and bend the other side of the rivets to remove the flare and you can just pop them back out from the inside...
As for putting them back on, I bought the rivets from Marti as well and I cant see how they would work with a standard rivet gun. So I will probably just use a regular rivet when the time comes.

Re: replace VIN tag
OK cool. Been waiting for my buddy to help me put these on and we've both been busy and haven't been able to set aside a day to get it all done. Glad to know it's doable.

If you have correct rivets. Take a punch and push the center in. It will expand the backside of the rivet and look like factory. Just had to do this to mine.
