LMC cab mount (Am I missing something?)

Post by Fuquay »

I got the cab mount kit from LMC.

http://www.lmctruck.com/features/fb/fbcmk.htm

Problem is, the steel sleeves are longer than the bushings are tall. So the bolt tightens down on the sleeve and not on the bushings themselves. Is there something obvious I'm overlooking, or is this part just bunk? I might just grind down the sleeves and still use it. Any advice from someone who's used this part before would be much appreciated.

Is there supposed to be something else that that all bolts through? Maybe a frame thickness or some space between the frame and cab will take up the slack between the bushings and the sleeve. Have you actually tried mounting it up, or are you just dry fitting it in your hand?

The rear mounts go through a double floor and the spacer is to keep you from overtighting and crushing the floor.

I threw all of the hardware away when I bought the kit, and just used the new rubber. I used all of the original stock hardware as it was better than the crap LMC sent. I dont know if that is an option for you, but that is what I did. I only needed the rubber anyway and there was no way to buy it by itself.

Thanks for the sanity check, everyone. I think the sleeves are just sized for the rear and are a bit too long for the front. I just thought for the price they charge I wouldn't need to do any fabrication. It shouldn't be too much trouble to cut it down, but I was just wanted to be sure I wasn't leaving anything out.
