I'm restoring a 69 ford F100 that did not have a tailgate. bought a used one. While I was removing the hardware bolts from the truck some of the threads came with the bolts.
Now I'm I trouble becouse the threads are in plates that are permanently mounted inside the box of the truck. Anybody else have this problem let me know. The box is
a perfectly rust free never dented. Thanks

If you just have to have that size bolt and thread then helicoil it if you don't have to have that size tap to a bigger bolt or better go metric. Metric is just a bit inbetween standard.

Or retap it, but the helicoil are the best invention on earth. I love them, they are amazing. However, sometimes I have trouble breaking the tang off.DCrusher wrote:69Ford wrote:I'm restoring a 69 ford F100 that did not have a tailgate. bought a used one.
