Dent Repair

Post by 68FORDJBM »

What is the best way to repair a golf ball sized dent in the roof of my bump. I have several such dents and one is about 3 inches long like someone hit it with a stick. I hate to drill a hole in the roof in order to pull them out. Is it okay to fill the whole dent with filler or is there a better technique?

you put one in centrenter of the dent, use the slide hammer to pop the dent out, use a cut off wheel to cut the stud. Then you'll want to heat shrink it by heating it with a torch and cooling it quickly with a blast from an air gun.

Thanks, there are a lot of techniques and I know I need to minimize the amount of filler to 1/8 to 1/4" for best results. Just want to go right to the best technique and minimize the learning curve and equipment expenses.

For something golf ball size don't just put on stud in the center. Put a few around and work the dent out a little at a time working towards center.
