I was gonna forever try to mold it into my hood-too many projects I guess.

Those hood locks are nice but that guy selling it is full of [deleted]. His false hype is so bad it is offensive, you don't have to make stuff up to sell parts. They are not all that rare and I have at least ten of them here right now and I list them on eBay regularly (which is one of the reasons I know he hasn't done his homework and made it up!). You don't need to drill the rivets out to rekey them and I sell a complete lock set with hood lock, door locks and ignition lock with keys for $100 and the hood lock alone for $75 with keys. At $40 it isn't a horrible buy but shipping is over priced and it could go flat rate USPS rather than by zone. It will cost most people less than $50 to get a key made so you can easily do better. I would say my bad but I don't see how it is my fault that you posted a link to an item you are selling that you are not accurately representing. I had no way of knowing it was yours and I will always point out any false information. Instead of making stuff up about parts you should really try and describe them accurately and do your homework. BS does not sell parts, honesty does. These were optional on Ford trucks and vans in 78/9 and were fairly common especially in the vans where they were used into the 90s. The cable on a van is shorter but the cable used on pickups is the same as a 70's car where these were especially common on Lincolns. The hood lock option was not special order item and many trucks have it as part of the security package which is an RPO (regular production option) not a SO (special order). The hood lock was also available as a stand alone RPO and many people did get them that way but most probably came with the security group which is also how you got a glove box lock and locking gas cap. In the 70's this was an extremely important issue so many vehicles had it as dealers stocked them that way to reduce fuel theft (especially in populated areas like LA). It also will not fit a whole bunch of vehicles that you are claiming it will fit like Ranchero or 60's products without a bunch of work and that is not how you listed it. You say "It would fit the F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350, Bronco, E-150, E-250, E-350, Bump, Bumpside, Dent, Dentside, Econoline, Ranchero, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1978 and possibly the newer years of Ford trucks as well" well, by your definition of "it will fit", an Allison V12 "will fit" too. [deleted]. This thing will not bolt in any ranchero and quite a bit of modifying needs to be done to make it fit a Bump. [deleted]. Hawkrodbasketcase0302 wrote:Damn Hawk!
