Bump Doors?

Post by 68bumps »

The doors on my truck aren't in the greatest condition and I've been snooping around eBay and craigslist and i haven't found 68 f100 doors, but I've found doors from a 68 f250 and f100 and f250 doors from all the other years. Are bump doors from 67-72, f100 and f250 all interchangeable?

yes, more or less.

'67 doors use lever style door releases inside, '68-'72 use '68 Fairlane / Torino door pulls.

The early '68 doors have plastic keepers for the armrest bolts, the newer stuff uses metal spring clips. I guess the plastic could be pulled out so Ford changed it mid year.

If you have the aluminum snap in door panel trim you need those specific doors as the non trimmed doors don't have the holes and they were stamped vs. drilled (I don't think the trim will hold tightly against the door on drilled holes.

The weatherstrip changed in '71 from felt to rubber and I'm not sure if both doors were stamped the same.

'67-'70 have the vehicle VIN plate on the door, I think the '71s have the sticker on the cab

The arm rests are from '68-'69 fairlane / torino 4 door rear doors and were also used in some late 70-80's vans

The door panels are the same though? Only the weather stripping and trim is different?

I think they are. I'm not sure about the newer vinyl covered ones but the early metal should be the same
