Hi,
Pretty simple question I can't seem to find the answer to. What is the correct thickness for installed front and rear cab mounts in good condition?
i.e. the distance between the top of the frame rail and the underside of the cab's sheet metal for the rear mounts, and the distance between the top of the mounting bracket and bottom of front cab mount. I think the ones on my 69 have had it, but want to take some measurements.

Sorry I can't answer your question. Mine are too crispy to trust the dimension of. But here is a free bump to the top of the forum, maybe someone will chime in this time.

Re: Cab Mount Thickness
Just measured mine, I installed a set of poly bushings a last year, haven't driven truck yet. Not sure if they will settle any more, as it sits the front mounts are about 3/4" thick, rears a bit thicker, nearly 7/8".
My old ones were pretty squshed, before the change to the new, I wrapped a large hose-clamp around them and tightened them up. Seemed to work pretty well, raised the cab enough to align with the bed.

Thanks! Get good USA clamps. Over10 years later, they were still in place, didn't move.jamesrtw wrote:72BahamaBlue wrote: I wrapped a large hose-clamp around them and tightened them up. Seemed to work pretty well, raised the cab enough to align with the bed.

Re: Cab Mount Thickness
I will measure mine tonight. Thanks for the hose clamp info, great idea!
After I made this post, i found out that not all of the bolts holding the bed of my truck to the frame had nuts on them! The bed was sitting crooked, and the cab is most probably fine.
