paint color code

Post by chief101mfd »

I'm new at this so I hope I do it right the first time. I have a 1968 f-100 paint color code P ( boxwood green) but it is not listed on the 1968 colors. Can someone help? Thanks!

I was just wondering who the paint code "P" is not listed on the list of colors avalible for a 1968 Ford F-100 pickup , even on this wedsite. It's listed in the 1969 color chart. Cound not help but wonder if it was a special order color in '68.

I don't even see a paint chip thing for 68 under the lit here but this site has a scan of the page showing boxwood green as a standard '68 color:

OK, Let's try this. From the home page of FORDidentification, com, click on TECH. scroll down to decoding your truck VIN. Clink on 1968. Scroll down to the second row of information for ford VIN's. This shows exterior colors for 1968 Ford pickup trucks. I do not see the paint code "P" listed.

ah ok, I thought you meant the paint chip pages listed in the 69 factory literature. my truck is kind of the same thing, originally tucson gold code D which is also not listed in the 1969 tech vin decoder. its an explorer only color. I don't see any such notation for boxwood green being a 'special' color on the pantref scans though. :dk:

Check the 67 year color options. Sometimes Ford just changed the color name for marketing purposes.
