So I am looking for a new tailgate.... and there are 'rumors' of an aftermarket tailgate for ~$150 - doesn't have the Ford letters, and I am OK with that.
Who sells them.. I can't find a single vendor with stock, and only 1 that actually lists the tailgate.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Re: Tailgate
Give Dennis Carpenter a try, they have one made with the original Ford tooling with double galvanized steel (to keep from rusting from the inside out) with of course the F O R D lettering, they also offer a cheap imported one, made with thin metal for half the price, with no lettering. Not sure if the cheap one would stand up to the 1000 pound rating Ford gave them back in the day, I doubt it. Hope this is of some help to you on your quest.

Re: Tailgate
I think they be just that. Rumors. I think the cheapest I found a straight rust free tailgate used was $175.71PA_Highboy wrote:So I am looking for a new tailgate.... and there are 'rumors' of an aftermarket tailgate for ~$150 - doesn't have the Ford letters, and I am OK with that.
