What would a paint code of 3 on a '69 mean?? I don't see that on the decoder page.
Thanks

Re: Help with paint code?
If its an Explorer its Red: http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... ewsIndex=1 (look for the little 3 on the left of the color spot, red is on the bottom row)
If its NOT an Explorer its Yucatan Gold: http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... ewsIndex=1
This is the same way I figured out D meant 'Tucson Gold' on my Explorer.

The 'red' color noted is pretty close(i'd actually call it orange) but its not an explorer.....?????
Thanks for the help - I see these are Fordification palets but how where are they found on the site???
Thanks
EDIT:
I see where that is now - interesting how different the Martin Senour and Big A paint chip sheets are.........

Re: Help with paint code?
I imagine that you could order a truck in whatever color you wanted, I bet ford in 1968\69 woulda painted it an explorer color even it it wasn't one.
This site lists code 3 as "Calypso Coral" but the chip color looks pretty close to what that BigA page shows as explorer red. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedi ... ck&rows=50
If you click on the color chip it shows almost the same color as calypso coral on a 70 boss 302 so it wouldn't surprise me if its kind of orange looking.

Re: Help with paint code?
Hey - it looks like you found the connection - I was guessing that it is Calypso Coral but hadn't found any reference for the '3' that linked it to CC. But the link you have there does.
Thanks for the help!!
