2011 Ford F150 ready to pull my hair out

Post by glessen »

Hello guys. This time it's not over our Galaxie. It is my new truck. I just got this 2011 Ford F150 Eco Boost. IT is going back to dealership tomorrow cause the transmission is slipping gears and it surgers.

However also I am finding rust spots on the chrome bumpers and side steps. Needless to say this women is not to happy about that. We have not even had enough snow here. My other problem is the brake dust on my front wheels. We got this truck in August. When I brought it home I waxed it with good stuff. Stuff that we actually use when we paint a car. It is a three step phase. I waxed everything I could...lol Even the chrome!!!!

Well I have washed the truck a few times through car wash. So we all know how well they get the wheels cleaned. But tonight I really spent sometime on these wheels. What the living hell our these brake shoes made out of? I used high end wheel cleaner. Got some of it off. Used rubbing compound got some of it off. Used magic easer . Not all of it. The spots I don't have cleaned or should I say won't come clean almost feels really rough. There are some pitting already. What the hell people.

Sorry for my mouth, just not a happy girl right now. I almost want to tell Ford I want a different truck. But this one was speacial ordered!!!!!! :cuss:

Any sugestions on what to tell ford. For I know they will give me a run around for I am a girl and we don't know anything about vechiles. I would just like some actual proof that there is something wrong with the pads or the chrome.........

I've had similar trouble cleaning wheels after I used semi-metallic brake pads. They are known to wear the rotors quicker than non-metallic, possibly meaning more metal and pad dust. Hot metal dust really caked on, was difficult to remove. I wonder if a different type of pad would help?

These are stock pads. So who knows I will ask them that when I take it in. HOwever anyone have any suggestions on what I can tell them about the rust on my chrome bumpers? For I know they will take wax to clean the rust off and tell me everything is good. I can do that at home.

I am not spending 40k on a truck that is only 4 months old and rusting already!!!!!!

Well I dropped my truck off. With the brake dust issue they told me: Ford has improved there brakes. However with the pads they are using and require you to use to have a valid warranty is also bad for the chrome on your wheels. Really! I paid extra for the chrome package on my truck. If they would of told me your wheels will look like **** no matter what you do I would not have gotten the chrome wheels. Not a happy Ford owner right now!!!
