I ordered my billet bed strips from a place out of Oklahoma City. They were made to order to my desired length and quantity. I think they were 350.00 ish back in 06. That's what cost the most on my conversion. I got the bed wood from a closing out of business wood shop so I only paid 100.00 for the oak bed planks and the rest was the steel to make the crossmembers.

8) That's still a far cry from the price of a kit

True and it is all custom and not some off the self "custom" item.

I got my bed strips from my brother who got them from Scotts Supertrucks in Penhold Alberta Canada. Mine are the painted bed strips with the bolt holes in them. I have a plan that I think will look really good when I am done, better than chrome strips I hope.
