1099.95 for swb styleside.. still expensive, but if your bed floor is kinda beat up and you can save enough for it, it would look real nice..67mann wrote:Cheapest wood...Red Oak....1269(or something like that)for just the wood
Guess I'll just be searching for the stainless strip's

Yeah that's a shortbed price, but your right....it'll look nicer than a beat up floor no doubt. I've got access to rough cut lumber and a pretty sweet mill shop....so I guess I'll be searching for the strip's69f-100 wrote:1099.95 for swb styleside.. still expensive, but if your bed floor is kinda beat up and you can save enough for it, it would look real nice..67mann wrote:Cheapest wood...Red Oak....1269(or something like that)for just the wood

Man! I need to head to the saw mill and grab a bunch of Red and White Oak lumber. If they are getting those kind of price I could make a killing by milling the lumber.
Been a while since I bought any White Oak but it was only around $.280 a BD.FT

My opinion those floors don't look right since they just sit on top of your old floor. They are nice, simple to do, but expensive. I made my wood foor replace the stock steel floor for around 550.00 bucks. We fabed everything and used a cut down lwb step side wood board kit.
1968 swb hydroboost, ididit tilt column, Saginaw p/s pump with F series serpentine, all led lights, Vintage Air and painless wiring. 393w, tko600. CV front suspension w/c5 calipers and gt500 rotors. Stock Flexomatic leaf springs with 01 CV 8.8, 3.90 gears and Auburn locker. Custom wood bed floor. Full frame off resto-mod.

tybob81....do you have pictures of your floor? I am going to do a wood floor in the bed of mine and use dark walnut but I want to cut the floor out also so you can see the wood underneath the truck. Just wondering how you did yours.

Re: styleside wood bed floor
I've seen your build and your box turned out great
I'm still up in the air on how I'll do it,but mine will have a wood bed floor. Care to cough up info on your strip's...who made them or where ya got them
I've yet to find somebody that just sell the strip's....the wood won't be an issue.....hell,I can go down a Black Walnut out of my yard if it comes to it
