Paint QUestion

Ok, so I started taking the front end apart and I need some input on paint. I want to use a satin black on the headlight housings, rad support, inner fender wells and so forth. I was going to plan on useing good ol spray can but I think that it might not be able to hold up to the elements as well. Should I use engine paint due to the heat, or should Kylon work ok. Please give me your on this. Thank you in advance.

I've used engine paint on body panels, doesn't hold up well. I'll guess the engine heat is needed to cure the engine specific paint. Inner fenders don't need high heat tolerant paint, my experience is the spray enamel works well.
I learned by error, if sanding old panels, wait a day or so before priming or painting. Even 40 year old paint may lift if fresh spray paint is applied to freshly sanded surfaces!

I use engine paint. Duplicolor Semigloss black. It will hold up very well. The other one I like is VHT.

thank you all for your input, but can POR 15 be applyed right over old paint if sanded lightly? I am ready to get started on the firewall.
