Long bed to short bed

I want to cut down my '70 long bed to a short bed. Looking at the numbers it looks like I need to cut 16" out of the front and 4 " cut out of the back. Is this correct?

Good question.I am also wanting to know if this correct.I have picked up a descent 69 longbed that has rust issues in the front and rear sections that if were cut out would make a nice shorty.Also,is there a schematic or diagram with the dimensions of a longbed and shortbed that can be downloaded? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have followed 2 trucks that were shortened to a standard size SWB. Both took 16" out of the front & 4" out behind the axle.
