Hey guys, quick question about tail lights. I am trying to install the tail light assembly, and in the hole where it goes there is a bent tab of metal that keeps it from sitting where I think it should:
My question is: what is that tab, and how is it supposed to sit (perpendicular or parallel to the tail light)? Since this truck was in boxes when I got it, I don't know how the assembly was originally installed.
Should be bent down, parallel to the bed side. Not exactly sure what it's for.

Thanks! Yeah I have no idea what it is for.. I can see it is part of the stamping process, as there is a matching shape on the other side of the housing, but why they leave it there (and why there is a hole) beats me.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm... Inquiring minds wanna know.
