73-79 rad cradle swap question (pic heavy)

Post by 1967mercury »

has anyone actually ever made this swap work?? i recieved the core support, inner fenders and rad cradle from a 76 f-100.
i am having a hell of a time making (the fenders line up with the grill) them work with my 67 truck and fenders. i have read the tutorial a dozen times and it still doesnt make any sense.
P.S i threw in pics of my bumper just for kicks.

this is what im talking about.

to start off with -the fenders go over the inner fenders - & not vice versa
i've done this swap over twice before (before there was a Fordification) -the tutorial may be long winded (no offense to Keith) if you are just looking for a quick how-to ( his 67 project was a pretty cool read though and i really liked following it) ,but the info is there
you need to drill a few extra holes here and there and not use a few here and there ..etc..
good luck
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...
