Would Rhinolining an entire truck, after treating the rust, be a bad or good idea?
Please opine.

No first hand experience with Rhino Lining but my opinion is based on my experience with powder coating.
Powder coating is tough as nails and looks great. The problem with it is water migrates between it and the steel it's applied to. By the time the rust is obvious, it's too late and sever damage has been done, rendering the part useless.
Powder coating is also very difficult to remove, but I don't know if Rhino Lining is as difficult, just in case you do apply it and change your mind later on.
I would think Rhino Lining would create the same results as powder coating. As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of these types of products and feel that good old fashioned paint gives the best results.

That would depend on the application.

Re: Bad Idea or Good Idea?
Good evening SoCalCraigster,
I've seen several trucks painted all over with that bedliner stuff. One of them even had a red and black two-tone scheme going on.
One truck was a modern Dodge and the other was an 80's Chevy. They both looked great that way, in my opinion; the finish looked extremely durable and practical. I respected the owners of these trucks for making that choice, since it's unconventional.
On a Bumpside though, it's hard for me to visualize, probably because a Bumpside's body lines are curvy and beautiful. It might make the body's natural shape look flat and diminished. Maybe on a rough off-road Bumpside it would be just the thing though.

i wouldn't do it personally ...well maybe on a work truck or bush beater....you wouldn't have to worry about scratching it up (much)
if you do decide to go for it i hope you post some pics!

Re: Bad Idea or Good Idea?
I had a customer inquire about it last year. He wanted to do an 07 dodge power wagon. I thought he was nuts, but he said he wanted it to look super tough for off roading. So we talked about the pro's and cons. The only negative things that we came up with were the door gaps would become much smaller and the handles and window rubbers would be encased into the panels. One other thing he wanted to use a colored liner. I would really make sure that the supplier will warranty against fading.
