I have looked at the VIN plate on the door of my 68 F100 and where my original repair manuals say the paint code should be it is not there.
I emailed a guy on Craigslist who's truck is original and appears to be the same color as mine. He sent me a picture of his door vin plate and his has a paint code of 2P. According to my manuals the 2 is meaningless, but the P is called "Boxwood Green."
Is there another way to verify my paint code? I can send anyone willing to help me a picture of my truck and the door tag also.
Thanks for any help.
Please help with paint color/code

Re: Please help with paint color/code
Whenever a VIN tag doesn't show a code in the Paint section, that means it was painted a custom color that wasn't a part of the regular paint line-up for that model year.

Re: Please help with paint color/code
I show the paint code 2P to be Coachman Beige on the top and Boxwood Green on the bottom.

If your truck is lighter on the bottom, perhaps the code is 2R? Which would be Coachman Beige upper and Diamond Green lower?
The cab top would have been Beige if you have no chrome strip to break the line of the cab; if you do have the chrome strip, the top could have been Boxwood (or Diamond) Green, or White/Wimbledon White, depending on if Green (or even a 3rd color) was custom ordered for the cab top.
