1970 ranger LWB doors

Post by Snapfoolish »

Hello all,
Here is what i got. i just bought a 1970 ranger. most of the problems with this vehicle are with the engine but there is one thing that i am not sure about. The doors on the front side have a gap of about a half inch at the bottom and about a quarter inch at the top. i have looked under the vehicle and nothing seems damaged. I was wondering if the door hinges would cause this difference. here is a picture you have to look close at the front of the door. its like this on both sides.

Might want to check out your cab mounts. One of my front one's are in worse shape than the other and there's a visible difference in where the "bump" body line meets from the cab/bed to the cab/fender on one side and it's the opposite on the other side. Bad cab mount makes in lean down about 1/4" in one front body line which kicks it up about 1/4" on the opposite back body line. Barely noticeable but slapped me in the face every time I looked at her. Check it for a corresponding opposite difference and that would be an indication. Great looking truck!

:yt: Looking closer at the side mouldings / trim in the picture, you can see the cab seems to sag a bit at the cab front.

Very nice looking truck! It sure looks clean and in great shape.

beautiful truck! mines a 70 also. Ya check out those cab mounts and replace them if they need it BEFORE you try messing with any panel alignment. What are your plans for it? I think those hub caps have got to go lol.
