Sandblasting a Frame
I'm considering having my truck frame sandblasted. Any idea what I should expect to pay for something like this?

i dont know. but some guy i called wanted 350.00 to blast just the rear half of my 67 two years ago. i laughed at him. i could buy a blaster and the materials and do the whole frame for that. plus still have the blaster and some materials left over.

Re: Sandblasting a Frame
Depends on the set up. The guy I took it took was able to recover most of his media when he blasted. This allowed him to charge me less. It is hard to judge price from state to state.
I paid $180.00 to have my frame blasted.
I would shop around and go with the best price.

Sounds like I should expect $200 or less. Thanks for the input.

If you can get it for $200 go for it! I was quoted $350-$450 and had to transport it myself. Wound up doing it myself by borrowing a friend's portable suction blasting rig. Even with that, I spent about 8 hours and $80 for blasting media. That's not including the degreaser and pressure washing time. IMHO, $200 is a steal!

Re: Sandblasting a Frame
You guys are lucky. Any of the places around here have always quoted me $500 and up plus extra for any suspension components. Sandblast AND powder coat shops consistently run upwards of $750 just for the frame to do both.

Re: Sandblasting a Frame
for 750.00 i would buy my own rig and reuse my sand. i am sure it would save a bunch. then you could turn around and blast other peoples stuff and make your money back on the blaster.

Youch, $500! For that kind of money, I think I would find another way.
