Re: Cab / Body Change
I did all my research a few years ago but I believe that the bump side has a wheel base of 131" and the 95 has 133". I thought about how to position the body on the frame for a while and came to the conclusion that the rad support has to be in the right position from the water pump. So I put the cab and box on the chassis then I put the inner fenders on, and finally the rad support. I am running a 300 six so it is a longer block than an 8. My block is 3/8 from my fire wall and the rad to fan distance is perfect. I bolted the box to the chassis about an inch from the cab. my 95 bumper fits with an acceptable gap. The only thing I notice is that my front wheels are a bit forward more than I liked. To work around that I shaped the forward part of the fender to give a little more gap ( I should give credit were credit is due, the guys at work did the shaping). I have noticed that some trucks with big tires on the stock frame have this same problem. I am running 35"s so that doesn't help to much. I almost have it on the road and haven't had to many big problems... but a few small ones! If any one is interesetd and has questions pm me. My wife is sick of hearing about my truck so I need some one to talk trucks with!

Re: Cab / Body Change
This week I worked on the wipers and washer bottle. I had to extend the wiring for the wiper motor into the cab. (previosly in engine compartment). I used my 95 wiper motor. had to trim the shaft that goes through the wiper rods to the right size. Then space the motor out from the mounting plate. I now have multi intermittent wipers! For the washer bottle I noticed that they are still using the same washer pump! The 95 harness just plugged right in! Has any one else started their body swap yet?

70 ranger, I had a ton of questions last year but got sidelined and haven't worked on my truck since then. Do you still feel up to answering some questions about your swap? I have a 2x4 and am worried about the front wheel clearance. I was thinking of moving the mounts for the motor and transmission forward about 2in. Do you think that would be a problem as far as mounting the cab/box? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!
