Looking for new grille inserts
Well, it's time to get some new inserts. Right now I have a '72 grille. I'm looking for some good, durable, replacements. Is there anything besides the original replacements and the billet bars offered from LMC? I don't like the look of the billet aluminum inserts from LMC, it just doesn't "go" with the style of my truck. I'd be up for aluminum inserts, just not that style. I have some good '71 inserts with the chrome bar across the middle that I might use but I'm just wondering if there's anything else out there that I haven't found yet.

none that I have come across. You sure have a sweet truck! What color is it painted? It looks like the paint my truck was originally painted, it was a special order option. My truck is a 72, 240, 3 on the tree, rubber floor mat truck.

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
I am partial to the 71 inserts so suggest using them. I have a 71 that I have had since dad gave her to me about 32 years ago though.
I think I read once on here that the 72 grill is a little different from the 71 where the inserts mount to so that might be a problem. I bet Keith has a picture somewhere showing what will work though

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
the 70 grill shel is different than the 71/72 grill shel. the insert for 71 and 72 will interchange with no problems.

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
Ive though it would look good to have aluminum inserts that mimmiced the stock 72 inserts. The plastic seems to warp some over time.

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
I don't think it's what you are looking for but i have a nice set of original '72 inserts.
Aluminum original looking ones would be so sweet, but expensive!

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
Ya I have a bunch of extra inserts that are in good shape. I have '70s '71s and '72s but I was just wondering if anyone knew of some cool aftermarket ones besides the ones that LMC offers. Thanks though.

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
I see from the last post, a Custom look is what is being sought. However since there may be others reading this thread I figured I'd add my

Re: Looking for new grille inserts
Just wanted to kick this post up again. I still haven't found any grille inserts that I'm too fond of. I want something like a billet insert to replace my '72 inserts but I don't like the LMC ones. Anyone know of something else?
